Overview And Responsibilities
- To develop positive relationships within the school, wider Aurora Team and externally which support the running and developing of the school towards and sustaining outstanding.
- Work with the Principal and Head of School to ensure that the school offers a high quality, exciting, engaging, well resourced, differentiated and well matched curriculum for all students.
- Spend up to 0.6 of post (to be directed by the Head of School) of working time classroom based demonstrating and modelling good practice, and ensuring ‘quality teaching first’.
- Positively encouraging, coaching and mentoring and supporting training and development for all members of the team.
- To take lead responsibility for ensuring the best possible curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress and achievement for all student especially through enrichment, creative learning, extended services, partnerships and collaboration.
- Play a key role in the overall smooth running of the school
- Recognised teacher training qualification – Cert Ed. / PGCE / QTS or QTLS / Diploma in Teaching (essential)
- Management/leadership qualification (desirable)
- Accredited training in specific areas of special education, e.g. Autism, Dyslexia etc. (desirable)
- Successful management of complex scenarios and conflict resolution
- Effective team management and working collaboratively and effectively with others.
- Communicating effectively to a wide range of different audiences though a range of different mediums.
- Experience of holding responsibility for and turning policy into effective and successful practice.
- Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole college.
- Proven track record of excellent creative and structured teaching within special needs environment.
