The Allocator will be reporting directly to the Senior Allocator and is a key player in monitoring and maintaining the balance of inventory in stores to maximize sales. This role will be responsible for analytical research pertaining to inventory, sales trends by store, allocate merchandise strategy, and recommend the best steps for profit growth. You will be responsible for ad hoc reporting to dive into specific store or collection information; to help administer any future decisions with incoming receipts, replenishment and\or suggestion for consolidations.

The Allocator for Roots will be responsible for the following:

• Review store trends on assigned product categories to suggest revised initial allocations and review with buying team.
• Develop understanding of each store and key demographics through performance analysis, store communication and further discussions with the Buying and Store teams
• Update the Assortment Plan for assigned Department in terms of Allocation details.
• Attend store walkthroughs to understand product category needs, capacity and store feedback.
• Compile and provide week to date scorecard for the Weekly Department Meetings on Allocation, Stock Movement, Sales by Store and contribution by sales buckets.
• Collaborate with E-commerce team to establish inventory needs for online sales.
• Adhere to company’s Marketing Launch calendars to ensure collections are in stores in time for product launch dates.
• Identify risks and opportunities within assigned Department and possible course of actions.
• Action Marketing and Wholesale requests for product movement.
• Develop effective working relationships with the Planning, Buying, Store Ops, and Distribution Center.
• Weekly Monday review of store and collection performance in season; in order to provide updates and feedback on allocations to accommodate the changes in trend and the mix of the store assortment.
• Provide seasonal insight and perspective on store gradings according to trends.

Top candidates for the Allocator role will have the following:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; with a focus on pivot tables and lookups is necessary.
• Experience in a previous role as an Allocator, Assistant Buyer, Inventory Analyst, Demand Planner preferrable.
• Diploma / Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising or a related field.
• Preferred experience in Enterprise systems specifically for Allocations and Data Whse and Purchase Order Systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• 2+ years of Retail store experience in a progressive role; preferably from a high-volume space as a Team Lead or Visual Merchandising Lead.
• An understanding of/affinity for the Roots customer and a passion for the brand/company values.
