Set Up Technician Jobs

Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience

Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel (Powerpoint is a bonus)

Overhead crane experience (is an asset)

Lift truck operator experience(is an asset)

Setting up the next tool as well as all equipment operators that would be required to complete the production order

Confer with one of the material handlers so they are aware of a change allowing them to prepare accordingly

Experience with hand held measuring equipment /blueprint & drawings

Good math and computer skills

Previous experience in a continuous production process (not assembly line) setting up, troubleshooting, tear downs, change overs

Strong mechanical aptitude and reasoning ability

Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment with continuous processes.

Minimum high school diploma or experience working in a manufacturing environment

Experience working in plastic injection molding in a similar role will be considered an asset

The capability and experience to operate a crane and forklift in a safe and responsible manner

Full-time, 8 hours (days/afternoon/nights rotational)

Ability to perform basic math functions, including using decimals, fractions, and an understanding of weights and measurements conversions

Must have knowledge of First and Last Off Procedure

Must have knowledge of loading, unloading and storing of tooling equipment in appropriate safety area

Must have knowledge to set all tooling for all presses

Must have knowledge of operating presses for both manual and progressive dies

Must have knowledge of all Inspection Records, SPC Charts and checking fixtures

Must have knowledge of rolling mill controls and tooling protection or other pieces of equipment to operate rolling mill

Must have knowledge of all Inspection Records, SPC Charts and checking fixtures

Must have knowledge of measuring equipment, such as, vernier and other gauges

Must have experience in starting and shutting down of all equipment necessary to run appropriate rolling mill

Knowledge in rolling mill induction welding (training will be provided as needed)

3-5 years injection molding experience at the set-up or process engineering level

Relevant training/education in injection molding

Knowledge of different materials process (changing material, etc.)

Working experience in plastic compounding with fibre glass would be an asset

Follow written set-up instructions and fill out proper set-up papers

Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry and their applications

Enrolled in OYAP and/or completion of secondary school

Solid understanding of the FCS clamping system

Regularly update senior management to show status weekly

Strong technical knowledge and organizational skills

Experience in on-set 3d scanning, and texture photography

Excellent communication skills and an ability to take exact direction from the Director and translate to post VFX house

Maintain creative and technical relationship with clients, building and maintaining a strong client confidence

Effectively brainstorm and suggest shoot methodologies more friendly to VFX and the betterment of the project

Performs any other reasonable assignments given by Department Management or his/her designates.

Location: Progress Ave & Midland, Scarborough ON

Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30PM to 1:00AM, Friday 2:00PM to 10:30PM
