Overview A Trailer Mechanic is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and inspecting trailers and other related equipment. They diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems, inspect and adjust brakes, and perform other maintenance tasks. Detailed Job Description A Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trailers and other related equipment. They must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems, inspect and adjust brakes, and perform other maintenance tasks. They must also be able to inspect and repair trailer frames, axles, and suspension systems. They must be able to use hand tools and power tools to perform repairs. Job Skill Requirements• Knowledge of trailer repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of trailer frames, axles, and suspension systems
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems
• Ability to inspect and adjust brakes
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in trailer repair and maintenance
• A valid driver’s license
• A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of trailer repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of trailer frames, axles, and suspension systems
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of safety procedures
Job Experience
• Previous experience in trailer repair and maintenance
• Previous experience in using hand tools and power tools
• Previous experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical problems
• Previous experience in inspecting and adjusting brakes
