Job Description
Job Summary


The Data Entry Clerk will support the Sales Department by inputting paper-based information into our digital systems. The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.


Job Duties And Responsibilities


Type in data provided directly from customers.


Collect data from the database or electronic files as requested.


Organize system backups on a regular basis to ensure data preservation.


Perform verification of data by comparing it to source documents.


Review and update existing data.


Move data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards data recorders or optical scanners.


Prepare spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.


Manage paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.


Job Specifications


Skills


Ability to understand written/verbal instructions


Ability to operate office equipment and computer hardware


Ability to input data quickly but accurately (WPM 45+)


10-key by touch


Attention to detail


Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel


Education


High school diploma or equivalent required


Work Experience


1+ years experience working as a Data Entry Clerk a plus


Physical Requirements


Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.


Detail-oriented and have the capability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.


Efficiently multi-task while maintaining precision.
