We are looking for a Unity/Javascript Curriculum Director/Center Assistant to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal:TEACHINGKIDS TO CODE THROUGH DEVELOPING VIDEO GAMES.

:
➢ Full Time Position
➢ Must be available for 30 hours minimum / week;
➢ Target goal of completion of all nine belts in addition to curriculum updates (EX. IMPACT);
➢ Analyze, organize, and develop curriculum to increase engagement, retention, and learning in collaboration with the owner’s vision;
➢ Identify key areas of improvement and provide multiple solutions to challenges presented
➢ Model the inquiry process and provide personalized, precise and intentional support by co-constructing learning experiences with Ninjas and Senseis;
➢ Assist in developing programs and services through providing feedback to owner about various different program initiatives, activities, and centre operations;
➢ Assist program coordinators in hiring and on the job training of newly hired in-centre and virtual Senseis through mentoring and verifying completed work;
➢ Assist in managing in-centre and virtual Senseis by monitoring, coaching, and providing feedback to the owner on all Sensei’s progress;
➢ Assist in scheduling and ensuring that there is enough staff at any given point in the Dojo;
➢ Ensure cleanliness and operation of the centre and collaborate with the centre director/program coordinators when supplies are necessary;
➢ Promote a fun, quality learning environment for the Ninjas;
➢ Maintain and troubleshoot IT issues (support to be provided);
➢ Commit to ongoing personal professional learning and capacity building with an understanding of current, evidence-based practices; and
➢ Perform other duties as assigned with consideration to the needs of the centre.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Must Have:
1) Graduated students from university or college with discipline related to Computer
Science or Game Programming
2) Extensive working experience with children of all ages (i.e. camps, mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.) YOU MUST LOVE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN
3) Knowledge of and experience using various coding languages (e.g. Scratch,
JavaScript, Python, Microsoft Makecode, Lua, Roblox, Unity C#)
4) Knowledge of the Unity game engine is required
5) Experience developing coding curriculum
6) You MUST have a growth mindset, be willing to learn, and work as a team. You
MUST also be FUN to work with! Sense of humour is important
Preference Given For:
1) Candidates residing in Markham
2) Possession of Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification
3) Bilingual applicants (Cantonese/Mandarin)
