Sr. Fullstack Java Developer

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior FullStack Java Developer to join our team on a contractual basis and contribute to an exciting proof of concept (POC) project for a leading Canadian bank.

Role Overview: As a Senior FullStack Java Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building out a proof of concept (POC) for our esteemed client, a prominent Canadian bank. You will be responsible for developing both backend and frontend components using Java, JavaScript, and AWS technologies. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of software development best practices, a strong grasp of Java and JavaScript frameworks, and hands-on experience with AWS services. This is a senior-level position that requires a strategic mindset, exceptional technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project stakeholders, architects, and designers to define and implement technical solutions for the POC project.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full application stack, ensuring timely resolution and seamless user experiences.
• Participate in agile development processes, providing insights and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration practices.
• Leverage AWS services to architect and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
• Design, develop, and test backend and frontend components using Java, JavaScript, and related technologies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a FullStack Java Developer, with a strong focus on both backend and frontend development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, and related libraries/frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of AWS services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.) and cloud-native application development.
