The Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, a GSL Group Company, located in Victoria, British Columbia, is a busy entertainment facility that hosts a WHL hockey team (The Victoria Royals), minor hockey, community hockey, and numerous professional concerts, shows, and exhibitions throughout the year.

We are currently looking for part time Skate Shop Staff to help with public skating in the arena for October. This position runs until the end of March 2024, with the opportunity to return the following season.

Shifts available include a mixture of weekdays, weeknights and weekends. This is a good job for students who can work around their class times, or for anyone looking for a second source of income. Schedules are done monthly, so you will know what shifts you’re working for the whole month.

Day in the Life:

• Skate sharpening (will be trained)
• Opening and closing the skate shop
• Patrolling the ice during public skating
• Registering customers for skating lessons using Perfect Mind
• Setting up skating area with chairs, skating aids and signage
• Keeping all work areas organized
• Sanitizing skates and helmets
• Taking cash/debit/credit payment for skate rentals and admission

You Own This if You Have:

• First Aid training is needed, but will be provided if you don’t already have it
• Strong skating skills
• Cash handling experience
• Previous customer service experience
• Basic computer skills
