Job Summary:
As a Robotic Arm Technician at our mushroom growing company, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of robotic arm systems used in the cultivation and harvesting of mushrooms. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of these automated systems to optimize production and minimize downtime. Your expertise in robotic arm programming, calibration, and problem-solving will contribute to the success of our mushroom growing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Robotic Arm Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on robotic arm systems to ensure their optimal performance. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components, as well as identifying and resolving mechanical or electrical issues.
2. Robotic Arm Operation: Operate and monitor robotic arm systems to facilitate mushroom cultivation and harvesting processes. This involves loading and unloading trays, containers, or shelves, as well as adjusting arm movements and settings as necessary.
3. Programming and Calibration: Develop and modify robotic arm programs to suit specific mushroom growing requirements. Calibrate arm movements and sensor systems to achieve precise positioning, picking, and placing of mushrooms without causing damage to the crop.
4. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identify and troubleshoot issues with robotic arm systems, such as malfunctions, errors, or performance discrepancies. Diagnose problems using appropriate tools and techniques, and implement repairs or coordinate with external technicians to resolve complex issues.
5. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to robotic arm operations, including performance metrics, error logs, and maintenance records. Use this information to identify trends, optimize system performance, and recommend improvements.
6. Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during robotic arm operations. Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality and integrity of mushroom crops handled by the robotic arm systems.
7. Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as growers, engineers, and technicians, to enhance overall mushroom cultivation processes. Provide training and guidance to other employees on the safe and efficient use of robotic arm systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in robotics, automation, or related fields are desirable.
Proven experience working with robotic arm systems, preferably in an agricultural or manufacturing setting.
Proficient in programming languages used in robotics, such as C++, Python, or ROS (Robot Operating System).
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and other components used in robotic systems.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to robotic arm operations.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
