Report Developer/Analyst Jobs

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Report Developer/Analyst for a 12 month contract working in a hybrid work situation in Edmonton or Calgary.

Report Developer/Analyst Details

This report developer/analyst role will balance time between our (1) back-office system modernization initiative, developing new operational reports in SSRS/SQL, (2) maintaining and enhancing our existing operational reports in SSRS/SQL, and (3) developing analytics and dashboard work in PowerBI as assigned. The primary component of this role is report development in SSRS/SQL.

Report Developer/Analyst Responsibilities

• Ensure that developed reports are aligned with project and AMA (Alberta Medical Association) standards and best practices.
• Provide regular updates to the manager and the team on progress, emerging issues, and new opportunities. Attend daily BI standup.
• Develop unit tests for reports after development to ensure like for like from old to new systems.
• Understanding of how Oracle database queries work, as well as Microsoft CRM data structure, is a plus.
• Develop and post documentation for reports developed, procedures, and services that relate to your work.
• Participate in report development tasks liaising between business units, project manager, development team, DBA, and report architect.
• Participate in the testing phase of the project to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. While being able to pivot from project to operational on short notice.
• Design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models using SQL, SSIS, Power BI, 3rd normal form, Kimball, and Data Vault.
• Ensure that report development tasks meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.

Report Developer/Analyst Mandatory Skills

• 2+ years experience with Power BI
• 5+ years experience with 3rd normal form database methodology
• Understanding of SSIS, Data Vault, Oracle, Microsoft CRM.
• 5+ years experience with SQL
• 5+ years experience with SSRS
• 3+ years experience with Kimball data warehouse methodology
