Compensation

A competitive compensation package is on offer, consisting of:


  • Competitive salary of $65,000 - $73,000 (commensurate upon experience)

The Opportunity

As their new Refrigeration Technician you will be entrusted with maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing all industrial refrigeration systems in the plant. In addition, you would be responsible for maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system and water treatment equipment.


The shift pattern is:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 3:30pm to 12:00am


Position Description

  • Ensure efficient operating performance through troubleshooting system issues, providing timely corrective action.
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, Safety and all established regulations.
  • Assist Maintenance crew if additional help is needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Ensure all Ammonia Refrigeration systems are well maintained, following specific safety procedures.
  • Ensure all frozen refrigeration systems are well maintained.
  • Provide support on production/HACCP/GMP issues, ensuring company standards are met and maintained.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Communicate and coordinate with supervisor concerning all short term repairs and long term repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to refrigeration systems to reduce system issues.
  • Monitor and record compressor readings hourly.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Usage of PLC programming.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics to determine layout of industrial refrigeration system.


Experience

  • Any prior millwright experience would be an advantage
  • 5+ years of relevant and current work experience


Qualifications

Refrigerator Operator - Dual License is required
