Your New Company:

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a diversified mining company in Downtown Calgary. We are looking to hire a Purchasing Specialist to join their team on a contract basis of 6 months, with the opportunity to extend. This role is a Hybrid role, Full-time, Monday to Friday, with every 2nd Friday off.

Your New Role:

Your new responsibilities:

• Identify, implement, and report on opportunities to improve the cost and performance of suppliers
• Develop and execute the end-to-end competitive bid process, including strategy development, evaluation of proposals, recommendation for awards, and formation and administration of contracts.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions while maintaining positive supplier relationships.

What you will need to succeed:

• Degree, diploma, certificate, or designation, such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or a similar program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to assist in the development and execution of supplier contract agreements and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience, including experience with bidding and contract execution
