The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures. The incumbent provides friendly and efficient cashier transactions at the Food Service location while maintaining a hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking shelves and making coffee when able.
Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure drink fridges, coffee area and cashier shelving are stocked;
• Cleans, cuts and prepares fruit and vegetables for use in daily menu as required;
• Performs housekeeping duties as required.
• Completes cashier transactions and provide correct change if required;
• Prepares sandwiches as required;
• Provides efficient service, keeping area clean at all times including servery counters;

Required Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;
• Experience handling cash if applying for cashier positions an asset;
• Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure;
• Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
• Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;
• Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;

Anticipated Schedules
Positions are scheduled up to 24 hours a week. Some positions require early morning, day time, and evening hours. The location of work is within The Fix, Portable Feast or Tim Hortons.
Monday 12:00PM-7:00PM
Wednesday 12:00PM-5:00PM
Friday 12:00PM-7:00PM
These positions are 8-months per year positions with an annual seasonal layoff up to four (4) months.
