Job Description
The Psychologist Intern will provide supervised assessment, treatment and consultation services within the ASD Services; the primary focus will be with the Autism Intervention Program.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
  • Minimum of 1000 hours previous practicum experience
  • Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process
  • Experience with diagnosis, assessments and interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders
  • Fluency in French will be considered an asset
  • A valid driver's license
  • Completed all PhD coursework and permission of the program to start internship
  • Affiliated with an accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology

Unit Summary
The Autism Spectrum Disorder Service (ASD) is comprised of MCYS-funded community-based services located across two sites and includes: the provincially mandated Regional Autism Intervention Program, local Autism Intervention services for Hamilton, the provincially mandated Regional School Support Program and other ambulatory services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. These services have strong links with McMaster University's Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and the Offord Centre for Child Studies, an internationally acclaimed research centre focused on children with emotional and behavioural problems.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday; days (possible occasional evenings or weekends).
This position is temporary until September 2024.
