The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center offers the services of the Acting Early program: an early screening and intervention program aimed towards the healthy development of young children. Being in the midst of an expansion and development phase, this position will allow you to take up a stimulations and proactive challenge.
Description
The person is part of the CLSC team, works directly with the children and their families and may have to intervene in the child's various living environments such as home, daycare, school. They travel to communities to implement the recommendations of various professionals and organize awareness and teaching activities for community members. In a multidisciplinary context, it intervenes mainly with children aged 0-5 with signs of developmental delays.
Functions
Actively participates in the development of the early stimulation program in all Ungava communities;
Evaluates the child's overall development and makes recommendations;
Participates with the team in the detection of developmental delays and in the accompaniment of children in collaboration with families and daycare centers;
Analyzes the data collected, determines the intervention objectives and the preferred means;
Develops an intervention plan taking into account the priority needs, the child's strengths, the environment and the parents' expectations;
Provides support to specialized educators;
Works in a multidisciplinary team;
Develops written awareness and information materials on child development;
Participates in the revision of intervention plans and programs in collaboration with other team members;
Intervenes in crisis situations;
Participates in 24/7 psychosocial emergency services, including the application of emergency measures according to the Youth Protection Act and Act P-38.
Qualifications
Master's degree in psychoeducation;
Be a member in good standing of the professional order OCCOPPQ;
Minimum of two years of clinical experience in child development;
Knowledge of child development 0-5 years and of screening and evaluation tools;
Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders;
Bilingualism in English and French required, oral and written; knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset;
Experience in remote areas would be an asset;
Knowledge of Inuit culture and values will be an asset;
Ability to work with various community stakeholders;
Ability to teach and train local stakeholders;
Available to travel to communities on the Ungava Coast;
Must have a valid driver's license.
Conditions And Benefits
SALARY : Min. $947.80 / week Max. $1679.30/week
ISOLATION PREMIUM : $203.66 / week or according to family status
HIGH COST LEAVING PREMIUM : $74.17/ week or according to family status
RETENTION PREMIUM : $114.99 / week
Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her family status, transit or shared lodging if necessary temporarily.
