The Prep Cook Role

We are looking for someone who is innovative in finding ways we can grow our business and is looking to commit to a role that will eventually overflow the responsibilities of simply assisting in the kitchen. As a small start-up, we employ the motto of “it’s your business” to encourage our whole team to treat Sprout Society as if it is their own.

Our food is the backbone of our business – we will always push ourselves to stay miles ahead of the competition. In order to execute this goal, our Prep Cook role is responsible for helping keep the kitchen organized and progressing on cue, executing Sprout recipes with precision and timeliness.

With this role, we are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, quick thinking, and excited for an opportunity to grow with our company.

The Hours

• Wednesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
• Saturday: 7AM- 3:30PM.
• Wed/Thu/Fri: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM.

Roles + Responsibilities:

• Prepare + cook meals based on our recipes.
• Ensure recipes are fully documented with ingredients, quantities, instructions, plating amounts all included.
• Portion meals to specifications.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization throughout kitchen hours.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is/has

• Very good physical condition and endurance, able to lift upwards of 50lbs.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
• Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
• Proven experience as prep cook.
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; training from a culinary school will be an asset.
• A team player with good communication skills.
