We are hiring Journeyperson and Apprentice Pipefitters for an upcoming shutdown in Christina Lake, AB. The shutdown is expected to start on September 6th and run straight through to October 1st. This shutdown is camp-based, and a travel allowance is available for non-local workers. What would you be doing?Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and instruments to use and lay out the sequence of tasks. Draft detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation.Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings. Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position. Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks. Maintain and repair piping systems. Does this sound like you?Journeyperson or Apprentice Pipefitter ticket/certification.Valid CSTS-20, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, WHMIS, Confined Space, and CSO (Common Safety Orientation) tickets.Valid AWP (Aerial Work Platform) and Standard First Aid tickets are assets. Experience with pressure vessels is an asset.Must have your own reliable transportation.Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job, including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.Perks of the jobThe Senior Journeyperson Pipefitter employee rate is $ 47.52. The Senior Journeyperson Pipefitter DSP rate is $57.64, and there is a DSP overtime rate. $250 travel in travel out allowance for non-local workers. 12-hour work shift with OT after 8 hours in a day.
