Job Description

Come and share your expertise with us!We are looking for a Part Time Finance Assistant to join our team. This is a chance for you to use your skills to support Christian charities across Canada to become as healthy and effective as possible. You’ll be the latest addition to our excellent Finance department, and we can’t wait to meet you.


This role will work 2 days each week, with the opportunity to work more days depending on workload.

If so, we want you to apply! This year-long contract position is starting off part-time, with the possibility of moving to a permanent, full-time role down the line.


HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:


Handle and record incoming fundsin order to serve our ministry and our members.

Assist with AP and Payrollto support our Finance Assistant, and our team.

Help with reconciliations and disbursementsto make sure everything is done on time.

Liaise with churches and charities across Canadaoffering support and prayers.

Knowledgeable

You have experience with principles and disciplines of project management, as well as experience with Christian ministries, charities, and the CCCC Standards. You need to be driven to learn more all the time, which you will have plenty of opportunity for.


Passionate about charity issues

You are motivated to support Christian ministries and want to help them fulfill their missions. You might have served on a board or volunteered some other way, but you have a heart for service and doing important, meaningful work.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interest in serving people and solving problems
  • Good understanding of, and ability to communicate/demonstrate Christian faith, life, and practice as it applies to ministry workers
  • Agreement with CCCC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Ceridian, Quickbooks, and online banking.
  • Experience working with Christian charities as an employee, professional service provider, or volunteer
  • 2 years bookkeeping experience.
  • Excellent research, project management, strategic thinking, and social media skills
  • College diploma in bookkeeping/business or equivalent
  • General knowledge of donation receipting, payroll and accounting
  • The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and confidence in their ability to grow (continuous learner)


COMPENSATION

$20/hourworking 2 days a week (7 hours each), occasionally working more

There is an opportunity for benefits, pension, and hybrid work arrangements as more days are worked regularly.

LOCATION

This position will be fully in-office at our office in Elmira.
