The Operations Data Steward is responsible to support data users by managing manual data collection and management processes. They are responsible for accuracy and timeliness of manual data collection processes as well as having a deep understanding of data lineage, descriptions and definitions.
Key Functions & Accountabilities
  • Develop and design any manual reporting mechanisms not able to be achieved through automated processes.
  • Support testing of data, either for new data or changes to existing data structures or sources.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance overall data quality.
  • Maintain consistency with enterprise data governance strategies.
  • Partner with Business Stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of our data management capabilities, practices, and outcomes
  • Develop rules and process to control the integrity (accuracy, thoroughness, process compliance) of all data, Pro-actively identify data issues
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Data Governance Framework.
  • Develop manual data extraction methods from key operational sources.
  • Support manual data insertion processes into internal database environments
  • Investigate data anomalies and discrepancies. Understand the root cause and recommend corrective measures.
  • Determine data criticality in the context of identified business processes; Assess general data quality and identifies data issues
Qualifications
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • University degree in related field (Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Computer science) or 2 years of pertinent experience in a similar position
  • Strong data management skills (SQL)
  • Strong data visualization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Data Governance & Catalog Platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Alation)
  • Ability to understand and relate required analysis to business implications
  • Detail oriented
  • Sound operational understanding of Airline performance
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take initiative.
