About The Role


A permanent grade 2 neuropsychology position has presented within Monash Health to provide evidence based assessment and brief intervention to adults and older adults in the sub-acute rehabilitation and aged person’s mental health wards. This permanent position is 0.6EFT (3 days per week).


The neuropsychologist undertakes a diverse role, in investigating, documenting, and assisting in the rehabilitation of patients with psychological, behavioural and/or cognitive factors that are impacting on therapy engagement and/or discharge planning. RACS psychologists work within the multidisciplinary team on the wards and have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient centred care.


The psychology service within RACS comprises of Neuropsychologists, Clinical, Health and Education and Developmental Psychologists. The RACS psychology service covers Kingston Centre, Dandenong and Casey hospitals. This role is based at Casey Hospital within the 2 sub-acute wards.


About You


Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide range of audiences is essential, along with excellent time-management, and advanced skills and knowledge in working with patients with chronic and/or complex neuropsychological issues. In addition to direct patient work, your ability to work from a secondary consultation model within multidisciplinary teams and broader stakeholders is important. You enjoy the flexibility of an inpatient setting and the complexity of daily changes in the workload and enjoy working closely within a supportive psychology team. Your have ideas to improve service delivery and promote the profession of psychology and you work from an evidence-based science practitioner model.


What You Need To Know


Summary: Permanent P2 Clinical Neuropsychology position. 3 days per week. RACS psychology cover 3 sites Kingston Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. This position is based at Casey but staff may work across sites occasionally
