Metal Sheet Worker - Fabricator

Our client a leading manufacturer in the Hamilton area is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to join their team. This would be a Permanent direct-hire position.
We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals who can work independently.
In the role of Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and bending components according to shop drawings and blueprints. In addition to operating machinery such as Brake Presses, Sheear Presses, Waterjet Cutters, Grinders, and Drill Presses to fabricate custom pieces.
Position: Fabricator/ Sheet Metal Worker
Pay Range: $20.00 - 30.00 an hour (based on experience)
Shift: Straight Day Shift (overtime available)

Responsibilities
Responsibilities in this role will include:

• Produce sheet metal components in accordance with blueprints
• Comfortable working with sheet metal such as steel, aluminum and etc
• Other miscellaneous duties related to the position and as directed
• Inspect your own quality control for all work completed
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprint drawings
• Operate all metal finishing equipment (shears, brakes, punches, waterjet cutters and drill presses) to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
• Utilize rigging and hoisting equipment
• Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces
• Adhere to Company safety standards

Qualifications
Qualifications required for the position:

• Ability to interpret and understand technical and assembly blueprint drawings
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Operate all metal finishing equipment (shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses)
• Great attention to detail
• Ability to work in a safe, diligent manner, with minimal supervision
• Proven knowledge of manufacturing techniques
• 2-3 years of experience working as a Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator or Brake Press Operator.
• Welding experience is seen as an asset (MIG and TIG)
• High School Diploma or experience relevant to the position
