Job Description
Adecco is currently hiring for permanent, Full-time Metal Fabricator/Ironworkers- Red Seal/Journeypersons to work at our reputable client in Halifax, NS. To qualify for these roles, you must have an associate degree/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, as well as a minimum of 5 years of fabrication, assembly, and fitting experience utilizing various tools and equipment.   • Shifts:
  • Location: Halifax, NS, with a relocation package for anyone outside the HRM or NS province
  • Pay Rate: $ $29.33/hour to $37.08 /hour plus additional skills-based pay incentives and competitive health benefits
Day shift: 7:00 a.m to 2:30 a.m (8 Hours)
Night shift 5:00 pm to 1:00 am (7.5 Hours)
Backshift 12:00 am to 7:00 am (7 hours)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set-up Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) equipment for welding
  • Measure, cut, grind, fit, align and tack weld parts
  • Read, interpret, plan and execute from drawings, blueprints and procedures
  • Install interior structures, hatches, doors, bulkheads, etc. to complete all of the steel work in the ship
  • Instruct and mentor apprentices
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, semi-automatic flame or plasma cutting equipment
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
  • Layout of reference points and patterns
  • Layout, fabricate, fit up a pipe assembly including fittings, flanges and valves utilizing various tools and equipment
  • Work with various pipe materials such as carbon steel, copper-nickel, and stainless steel along with the appropriate valves and fitting
  • Layout construct patterns and templates
  • Operate CNC machines
  • Select the proper weld filler material
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Associate degree/CEGEP/vocational or technical training is required
  • Full trade flexibility is required
  • Capable of working in confined spaces and inclement weather
  • Able to work at heights from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms
  • 5-8 or more years of fabrication, assembly, and fitting experience utilizing various tools and equipment
  • For Ironworkers : Experience working in Marine/Industrial industry is considered an asset
  • A pre-employment physical is required
  • Support extended hours and overtime as business needs dictate
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
  • A background check will be completed by our client
  • Able to wear respiratory protective equipment and must comply with all safety regulations regarding the proper fit and use of this personal protective equipment
  • For Ironworkers : Metal fabrication trade certification
  • Capable of handling, lifting, carrying, and setting up parts and equipment that weigh up to fifty (50lbs) pounds, occasionally more
