Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Cutter/Butcher to join our team at Speducci Mercatto. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting various types of meat products with precision and expertise. Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and portion meat products according to customer requests or standard cuts.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, rotate stock to maintain freshness, and place orders with suppliers.
  • Remove excess fat, bones, and connective tissue to ensure the desired meat cuts are visually appealing and consumer-ready.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage temperatures and handling practices.
  • Prepare value-added products such as sausages, ground meat, marinated meats, or stuffed cuts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and offering recommendations on cuts and cooking methods.
  • Maintain and clean cutting tools, machinery, and work areas to ensure hygiene, safety, and proper functioning.
  • Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and adherence to standards, discarding any subpar items.
  • Perform deboning and specialty cuts as per customer requests or industry standards.
  • Accurately weigh, package, and label meat cuts, adhering to packaging guidelines and ensuring proper product presentation.
