Maintenance Technician - Hatchery (Permanent)

Team: Maintenance

Location:Borden-Carleton, PE Canada

Reports to:Plant Manager

Positions Available:1

Terms / Period: Permanent

Hours of Work:40 hours/week, Monday - Friday and the occasional Saturday

Salary:$19.00/hour

Start Date:ASAP

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner.If safety or repair issues are identified, the Maintenance Technician must document and schedule repair accordingly.The workspace must be kept clean and organized.He/she is to be aware of and follow all Safety, QMP, Sanitation, Employee hygiene, and CT-PAT standards and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Arrives on time properly dressed for work.

2.Maintain a “clean as you go” attitude throughout the day.

3.Constantly monitor the equipment.Document any deficiencies, questions, concerns, or suggestions.

4.Be able to assess the effectiveness of the current machines as well as modifications as they are implemented. Constantly striving to find new ways to increase the efficiency of the processing machines while meeting or exceeding Quality standards.

5.Repair or replace defective machinery parts and fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set up.

6.Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.

7.Installing machinery and equipment.

8.Operate machining tools and hand tools.

9.Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment.

10.Operate grinders, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, hydraulic systems and industrial and stationary engines.

11. Learn and follow all AAF policies and procedures.


Qualifications/Skills:

·Must be able to work and problem solve under pressure.

·Very alert with attention to detail

·Able to work independently, quickly & safely under pressure, in a wet environment.Climbing heights is required.

·Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·Excellent time management skills

·Experience in a shop environment

·Experience working with engines and machinery

·An innovative thinker, with the ability to experiment, and assess the effectiveness of new technology and /or methods.
