Job Description
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a mission-driven, enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to provide excellent maintenance service to the buildings and grounds at assigned YMCA locations for the benefit of members and program participants.

DUTIES
The Maintenance Technician is accountable for the maintenance of buildings and grounds at assigned YMCA locations.
The Maintenance Technician must have a knowledge of effective maintenance techniques and routine preventive maintenance - and have knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, building fixtures and equipment. They must be able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents and to perform assigned and approved repairs in accordance with YMCA Association Standards, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, plaster/sheetrock, landscaping, and housekeeping.
The Maintenance Technician supports the YMCA's Property and facilities team and will ensure proper use and methods of YMCA approved cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, building fixtures, and equipment. They will utilize maintenance and repair supplies in the proper and efficient manner and keep all storage areas clean and uncluttered. They will report any damage or needed repairs to equipment to the appropriate Supervisor and maintain safe and high-quality standards, for all assigned locations.
The Maintenance Technician must be able to operate custodial equipment including scrubbers, strippers, extractors to support YMCA branch custodians. They are accountable for consistently updating YMCA approved systems of records, reports, and inventory in assigned areas. They are responsible for updating, communication and closeout of all work orders and projects in the Facility Dude work order system.
The Maintenance Technician supports YMCA branch staff and custodians in maintenance, housekeeping, and branch custodial projects, such as carpet cleaning, high dusting, tile scrubbing, pulling and/or treating weeds, keeping grounds free of trash and in winter, shoveling snow from steps and sidewalks and applying ice melt when appropriate at assigned locations.
The Maintenance Technician will check for safety of all equipment and tools and report any problems to their supervisor. They will regularly monitor email for pertinent communication and facility work orders and attend meetings as scheduled. They will support and champion the use of the Property and Facilities department Standard Operating Procedures, Computerized Maintenance System, and vision for departmental standardization - and will help ensure that the YMCA of Greater Richmond facility and maintenance projects are completed on-time and on-budget. This is a direct service position that requires completing maintenance and specialized cleaning assignments. May be required to work after hours, weekends and holidays.
Salary: $36,000-38,000- based on experience and qualifications
