Position & Scope

The Processing Technician/Laborer at Protex Environmental is responsible for the daily processing activities that occur at the Protex facility. This position is vital to the recycling operations at the site and also contributes to other lines of business through deliveries, services, and customer interactions.

Under general supervision and as part of a team, perform the following:

• Keep all areas of the yard and recycle facility clean and well maintained
• Assist customers on site in unloading and documenting materials dropped off
• Remove non-recyclable materials from recycling stream and bale recycling for transport
• Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as assigned from the Management team.
• Operate equipment to load recycling, metals, bins, solid waste, oil drums, etc.
• Complete documentation properly and ensure it is submitted
• Coordinate the removal of collected recyclables

Key Accountabilities

• Able to work independently
• Self-motivated attitude
• Participate in the Protex safety programs including: safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.
• Safely operate all required equipment & ensure regular cleaning and maintenance
• Class 5 Drivers Licence (class 1 preferred) with a clean drivers abstract
• Requirements
• Follow daily direction from supervisors
• Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
• Complete service paperwork in accordance with Protex and TDG regulations
• Customer service experience
• Provide exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote Protex's service offerings

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00-$25.00 per hour
