Davies group is working with a Global Tier 1 Banking business who are seeking are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their team and handle all script changes related to the Java upgrade. As a Java Developer, your primary responsibility will be to upgrade and refactor existing Java code to align with the latest Java versions. This role requires strong technical knowledge in Java programming, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Role: Java Developer - All Script Changes with UT (Java Upgrade)
Contract Length: 3 months Initially, FTC or CTC (High chance of extension)
Location: Hybrid Working Model - 2/3 days on site (Toronto or GTA)
Salary: Highly Competitive Hourly Rate
Responsibilities:
- Upgrade and refactor existing Java code to ensure compatibility with the latest Java versions.
- Collaborate with the development team to determine the impact of Java upgrades on existing scripts and applications.
- Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues related to Java upgrades and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure that all code changes follow coding guidelines and best practices.
- Write unit tests (UT) for all script changes and ensure thorough test coverage.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Collaborate with QA (Quality Assurance) and DevOps teams for smooth testing and deployment of Java upgrades.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Stay updated with the latest Java trends, technologies, and frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the team's efficiency and code quality.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Java Developer, specifically in handling Java upgrade projects.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language and its various frameworks.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
