Strategic Services (SSB)empowers ServiceBC's high-performance, providing leadership and support to the division through innovation, business improvement and centralized services. SSB provides a range of services to the division including strategic leadership and communications, centralized information management, business intelligence services. Financial operations support includes financial budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.


Job Overview


This position is responsible for leading the development and delivery of scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment.


Job Requirements


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (five (5) years' experience.


Experience


  • Minimum five years' experience as a Full Stack Developer.


Preference may be given to candidates that have over two (2) years' experience in the following:


  • Experience with API development and integration and continuous development environments
  • Experience using Linux-based containers in a Kubernetes environment such as OpenShift.
  • Experience using a variety of modern development tools, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries including Vue.js and Python.


Knowledge


  • Strong knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge in frontend and backend development.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of version control technologies such as GitHub, and development in an open source environment.
  • Demonstrates analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills.
