Position Overview

Calian is seeking an Intermediate eLearning Programmer to design and develop highly interactive eLearning courseware. Our teams have had a strong impact on the training capabilities of the CAF and have been growing on a regular basis. We strive to provide the CAF with professionals who will enjoy working in an agile, learning organization and will facilitate continuous improvement in education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations with respect to the programming issues on project documentation, including:

1. Coding standard(s) chosen
2. Client needs assessment; and
3. Existing technology infrastructure

• Developing advanced project components, including:

1. User Interface in accordance with the style guide
2. Pseudo-code and metadata templates
3. Advanced JavaScript course elements
4. Course elements and related assets
5. Content object and asset metadata documents
6. xAPI/SCORM conformance and usability testing
7. Quality assurance testing

• Creating a maintenance guide that provides information relevant to modifying and maintaining the end products
• Coding/Programming eLearning product elements in accordance with the instructional Design Document(s), including:

1. Multi-media elements; interactive elements
2. Instruction content elements
3. Shareable Content Objects (SCOs)
4. Assessment instruments; and
5. Evaluation instruments

• Implementing quality assurance guidance including:

1. Recommending best practices
2. Making recommendations regarding eLearning product development
3. Identify and recommend solutions to identified coding issues

• Reviewing test documentation; and
• Documenting solutions or work-around to identified issues

Qualifications

• M.2 Must have at least 3 years experience in programming Web applications using Java, C language or script language, and secondary programs (file structure) and/or databases.
• M.3 Must have developed and integrated at least 2 AT or web-based training courses over the past 3 years.
• M.4 Must have optimized the performance of multimedia resources, including audio, video and still images for at least 2 e-learning products.
• M.5 Must have developed a SCORM-compliant conjecture (any version as specified by the client, including content packages and metadata files) for at least 6 SCORM-compliant courses over the past 3 years.
• M.1 Must have a university degree (in any field) or a college diploma (in any field).

In addition, Proficiency with DLN Development tools. The Bid must contain a resource skill set that contains experience with the following technologies or environments within three years of the date of bid closing. All proposed resources must have worked with at least two of the six tools below.

• 1. Published content for DL delivery on Saba LMS
• 5. Authored content in Articulate Storyline
• 6. Authored content in DominKnow
• 3. Authored content in Saba/Lectora Publisher
• 4. Authored content using Modest 3D
• 2. Authored content in Outstart/Kenexa
