JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance, painting and repair procedures on Residential buildings in the company portfolio in the Surrey area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repair plaster and drywall;
• Perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
• Clean and inspect boiler; treat water with proper chemicals.
• May obtain estimates for supplies and order parts as needed.
• Paint the interiors of apartments and suites for arrival of new tenants.
• Replace broken windows; repair doors, door locks and closets; install window blinds.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Minor electrical and plumbing maintenance and repair.
• Perform minor and major repair of buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
• Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Must have access to reliable vehicle and valid BC drivers license.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
