JOB TITLE: General Labourer Maintenance – Day Position (Full Time - Permanent)

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

JOB GRADE: Grade 5 to Grade 6, depending on qualifications

McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a career-focused maintenance team member who is safety driven, self-motivated, works well within a team atmosphere, and detailed oriented.

Qualifications

• Above-average knowledge of PC's, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Safety oriented
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Effectively use SAP system for work orders
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Previous general facility maintenance experience would be considerate an asset
• Valid drivers licience
• Good attendance is essential
• High School Dipolma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Painting skills (Caulking, prep work & painting)
• Capentry skills (Replacing doors, building shipping crates etc.)
• Working safely from heigths
• The ability to lift and move 15-20 kgs
• Plumbing skills (Replacing taps, repairing drain lines etc.)
• Observant and detail-minded with a natural sense of urgency
• Self-motivated individual with good organizing and coordinating skills with a proven track record

Duties

• Basic clerical work (Organizing & Filing)
• Retrieve maintenance items from the stock room
• Working with the maintenance department to maintain/repair the Prepared Foods facility
• Comply with GMP's, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures
• Willing and able to work weekends when required
• Completion of assigned PMs, BOPs and related documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety
• Scrapping, caulking, and painting (Interior/Exterior of the facility)
• Day position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor
• Work with the maintenance staff when required to meet a deadline
• Provide all information requested on feedback forms as part of completing jobs
• Observe equipment and component conditions while doing jobs, and provide feedback as appropriate
