• LOCATION: Remote - Work from anywhere (TimeZone:CET/WAT | Partial overlap)
• ESTIMATED DURATION: 25h/week - Short term
• HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $40 – $65/hr

THE OPPORTUNITY
Requirements

• Experience with APIs.
• Skills in Node.js, JavaScript (or even better, also Typescript), React or Angular, HTML, and CSS.
• Proactive with communication.
• Experience in end-to-end web application development.
• Self-accountable in a remote setting.
• Can communicate well with a non-technical audience.
• Some knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure, such as cloud servers and databases.

What you’ll be working on

• Our client is creating a brand-new product at the intersection of AI and storytelling. The product opens up the space for anyone to reflect on their lives – can be what’s important, interesting, impactful, etc – and turn those memories and stories into memoirs to be shared with loved ones and/or the public.
• Product description in one sentence: a web application where users input their audio/video data which will be turned into memory products (e.g. a memoir, an audiobook or podcast episode, a chatbot).

Breakdown of the current technical needs:

• Potentially testing and implementing some off-the-shelf coding packages that facilitate all the web product features they listed above.
• Video or audio file upload from device to web.
• Third-party API (which will also involve retooling so that existing tech products like video interview technologies, for example, can fit into their own system rather than the HR- and hiring-oriented ATS solutions on the market). The services they will potentially want to integrate are 1) video interviewing technology; 2) speech-to-text; 3) NLG such as Jasper; 4) self-publishing aggregators; 5) payment gateways. Note: Our client have already researched the APIs and decided on the services to move forward with so they don't need more research on this front.
• Making sure the web product has high mobile responsiveness.
• User management features: 1) registration and login; 2) user dashboard/portal where they can access their own data and the product outputs.
• Creating a web product that can support the following features:
• Setting up a cloud server + storage (or the considerations in choosing a cloud server and storage for an SME)
• Connecting certain user interactions with email notifications.
• Customer support functionalities (support chatbox, Help Center & Knowledge Base, contact form).
