About The Team

How would you like to work in a fast paced startup environment while benefiting from the stability of an established company with our talented team building Workday People Experience products at the beautiful Vancouver office in BC?

Workday People Experience aims to simplify and extend Workday to each employee in a personalized way. Our products enable employers to better engage and support employees while making work more personal and productive for their people.

We are looking for someone with a passion for the fullstack, who can dazzle us with their skills in technologies such as React JS/Typescript and GraphQL. We want a leader in this area who can help take our product UI to the next level as we expand our customer base. We challenge ourselves with our work but we also take time to bond as a team with fun games, lunches, happy hours and Hackathons.

You will be responsible for developing high performance, responsive user interfaces to engage and delight millions of end-users. Our customers include Target, Amazon, Netflix, Patagonia, Sony, Toyota, and many more great companies around the world.

About The Role

• Deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and in-depth code reviews
• Work on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitments
• Review design, technical requirements, architecture and code produced by other engineers.
• Write and maintain robust, efficient and testable code using best of breed languages, frameworks and tools, including React, TypeScript, GraphQL and NodeJS
• Contribute ideas for improving the team’s productivity, fun collaboration and code quality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and User Experience team on ideation, prototyping, and planning.

About You

Basic Qualifications

Senior Software Development Engineer:

• 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer
• 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer, creating web applications and REST APIs

Software Development Engineer:

• 3+ years experience as a Software Engineer
• You have 3+ years of experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security

Other Qualifications

• You have talent and enthusiasm for creating usable, scalable, well-tested software.
• You have a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and design patterns
• Utilized Cypress, Jest, Junit, or JMock
• Expert at assembling large-scale modern applications in React, TypeScript and CSS, Less or Sass (or similar)
• You’re highly experienced in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment using Scrum successfully
• You have strong written and verbal communications skills, and can drive technical and strategic discussions with the extended team.
• Open to Hybrid work environments reporting half-time in office.
• You see software development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile culture where you’re always teaching and learning

Bonus Qualifications

• General DevOps experience and familiarity with Infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, Jenkins)
• You have experience with GraphQL, Data Analysis
• You have experience deploying applications to AWS or other public clouds (GCP, Azure)
