Epic Safety is a North Vancouver based company that specializes in developing monitored, cloud connected life safety devices for seniors. We are transforming the way seniors connect to their family and help providers in case of an emergency. We're building the most user friendly and advanced devices and platform that brings peace of mind to seniors and their loved ones. At the moment, we need an enthusiastic developer with a passion for coding to extend our existing team.

We are currently seeking experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Full-Stack Developer (with good back-end skills)on our team.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and test backend components for web and mobile applications
• Perform maintenance on existing components
• Analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions

Skills And Qualifications

• Have a team player mindset and a positive attitude
• Experience with automated testing (unit tests, integration tests, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures and Algorithms
• Experience with Serverless Application Model
• A University/College degree (or an equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Strong data modeling skills (relational and non-relational)
• Extensive experience with designing and implementing REST APIs
• Experience in GIT or similar version control systems
• 3 to 5 years managing/maintaining medium to enterprise-scale customer-facing applications
• Strong SQL skills such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Strong experience writing clean, scalable, maintainable and secure code for large scale applications

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS IoT Core and AWS Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, AWS EC2, AWS ECS
• Experience with OpenID Connect
• Experience with Linux server administration
• Experience with IoT applications
• Experience with Express.js and Swagger
• Familiarity with the software development cycle
