Reporting to the Senior Director Ground Transportation the Freight Business Analyst will support our Ontario region. The successful candidate will play an integral role in developing and implementing strategies aimed at optimizing freight operations and improving customer satisfaction.


What you're responsible for:


  • Answering customer questions and providing invoicing evidence
  • Identifying the differences between actual expenses and costs billed to the customer
  • Auditing on all external domestic invoices, including inbound and outbound, brokers and drayage shipments  
  • Generating and analyzing data for invoicing both internal and external customers
  • Working with dispatch and supervisor to identify areas of weakness in the route planning process and provide valuable route optimization opportunities based on data driven analytics.
  • Preparing of monthly reports on operational and financial metrics and provide recommendations based on data analysis and research.
  • Providing ongoing analysis in areas such as transportation costs and delivery processes and analyzing and reporting on the performance of the Ontario transport department.
  • Establishing performance indicator reports and expense variance analyzes that will allow managers to understand the performance of the transportation department while supporting the development of process standardization for the transport department.


Qualifications

  • You are organized, analytical and pragmatic;
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • University graduate with a focus in Business, Logistics, Finance or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • 3–5 years of related experience in Accounting or Finance is required, with experience in freight or transportation preferred
