The Opportunity


As a Field Adjuster with Westland, you will be contributing to our goal of delivering an exceptional claims experience to our clients by meeting with them and assisting them through the claims process.


In This Role You'll


  • Investigate commercial lines and personal lines property insurance claims with insureds, third parties and other related parties in order to obtain facts and information
  • Responsible for providing exemplary client service and keeping all related parties informed of the claims process and status
  • Manage and direct other claim related experts such as Engineers and Legal Counsel
  • Manage and direct Restoration Contractors to ensure best practices are being followed for property restoration, and that costs are in line with work required
  • Responsible for data accuracy, issuance of payments to insureds, vendors and other related parties to a claim
  • Review facts, policy coverages, expert reports and case law to make decisions on coverage, claim value and settlement


Here's What You Bring


  • Community College or University Degree
  • Insurance Broker Level 2 license and/or CIP designation
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • 5+ years of multi-line adjusting experience, with 2+ years of field work in property claims adjudication
  • Good knowledge of building construction and restoration practices
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Computer proficiency with an ability to adapt easily to new computer programs
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong background in residential and commercial property insurance
