About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Equipment Operator, Dewatering to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.

This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday, with a 12-hour daily schedule.

The Dewatering Equipment Operator will report to the Dewatering Supervisor, and be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of equipment. They will also be responsible for inspecting, providing preventative maintenance checks, and occasionally repairing equipment when required.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Performing minor repairs on equipment issues
• Regularly cleaning equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
• Reporting needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
• Operating various pieces of large equipment (loaders, excavators, graders, plow trucks, low beds, hook trucks, dump trucks) in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
• Ensuring proper operation of equipment by performing regular checks on their functionality
• Committing to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration
• Providing preventative maintenance checks to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly
• Documenting regular maintenance checks to maintain adequate records of equipment performance

About You

To qualify, you must have 3+ years experience working with heavy equipment, a high school diploma or equivalent diploma, and possession of a Class 3 commercial driver's license.

The following skills and experiences will also be critical to successfully performing this role:

• Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
• Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair pieces of heavy equipment
• Details and results-oriented with the ability to multitask, and adhere to deadlines
