Job Description

Upholding the values and mission of Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. the Employment Coordinator is responsible for providing the supports necessary for program participants to seek, obtain and maintain independent employment. He/she works with employers and program participants to identify barriers to employment and develop and implement methods to overcome them. The role of the Employment Coordinator is vital to the successful transition to employment for program participants who have employment as part of their person-centered plan.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Assist selected program participants to identify employment goals and develop strategies to achieve them as part of their person-centered plan.

2.Assess needs of individual program participants for assistance/training in the areas of job readiness and transition to independent employment; develop and implement training programs to address the identified needs.

3.Seek and secure work opportunities ensuring that the program participants’ interests and personal employment goals are respected; evaluate work sites and partnerships for suitability; establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and potential new placements.

4.Provide on-site support and training for program participants on placement.

5.Develop effective working relationships with all staff and program participants to ensure a respectful and positive work environment.

6.Comply with Saskatchewan OH&S safety regulations as well as any safety standards set out by the various partners and Cosmopolitan Industries; to ensure that program participants and job coaches also comply.

7.Complete all necessary reports and records as required; prepare other reports as required by Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd.

8.Make presentations to existing and potential partners as well as to staff at Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd.

9.Cross-train for other duties/positions as deemed necessary.

10.Other duties as assigned.


Education

Certificate, Diploma or Degree in one of the following disciplines: Disability Support Worker, Social Work, Job Coach, Psychology and/or a related field


Qualifications

Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence; must maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. Mandt® Training or Crisis Intervention Training considered an asset. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office.


Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
