Title: EMC/RF Senior Test Engineer

TÜV SÜD Canada Inc., a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, has an opening in Gormley, Canada for an EMC/RF Senior Test Engineer

Working as part of a team of EMC test specialists, the successful applicant will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive EMC testing service to a wide range of industry sectors, in both semi-anechoic chamber enclosure and in-situ environments. The successful candidate will contribute to test plan creation, report writing, test procedure generation and test equipment and method development. Provide assistance to customers before and during the test process, the successful applicant will be customer facing as well as working to support the commercial sales and operations teams within the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- EMC testing in both screened enclosure and in-situ environments.

- Electronic logbook keeping and data collation.

- Test plan and report writing.

- Test equipment / method development and evaluation.

- Test procedure generation including provision of photos and measurement uncertainty calculations.

- Provide help to customers during their EMC test program and general consultancy prior to start of job.

- Validation of clients’ requirements (may require site visits).

- Assistance to the sales team with provision of information to enable quote generation.

- Develop as specialist in a specific area of testing i.e. rail, marine, radio requirements, etc.

- Provide training to engineers regarding specialist area.

- Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects.

- Work within the controls and constraints of an ISO/IEC 17025 Quality System.

Essential Criteria:

- A degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or suitable technical diploma

- Self-driven with a clear focus on high quality.

- Ability to address testing in parallel with reporting.

- Comfortable dealing with customers at all levels.

- Strong written communication skills.

- Good commercial awareness.

- Flexibility and willingness to work offsite or conduct shift work, where required.

- Familiar with use of MS Office suite of tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Desirable Criteria:

- Working knowledge of EMC/EMI testing requirements

- Working knowledge of EMC/EMI specification and accreditation requirements

- Familiarity standards such as CISPR IEC 61000 series, and Telcordia GR-1089.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Travel for this position is limited to the immediate vicinity of the site location, however a valid drivers license is required in order to facilitate occasional travel.
