The Opportunity:
Blyth Academy is seeking passionate elementary and middle school teachers to engage students and deliver exceptional experiential learning in Ontario curriculum courses. Working in collaboration with a dedicated administrative team, Blyth Academy teachers have the opportunity to make curriculum come alive and provide individualized learning experiences in classes with low student to teacher ratios and be part of a vibrant school community leading extracurricular activities.

About the Role/Job Duties:
  • Use a variety of teaching methodologies tailored to each student’s learning style and needs
  • Work with Blyth Academy administration, guidance counselors, parents, and professionals to enhance learning and support student success
  • Create a rich, experiential learning environment in the classroom and in the school community
  • Opportunity to grow as a school leader and administrator taking on extracurricular activities and special projects.
  • Evaluate student progress using appropriate and diverse assessment techniques providing constructive feedback to students and reporting results to parents on a regular basis.
  • Teach Ontario curriculum subjects in your field of expertise in accordance with MOE expectations
Requirements
About You:
  • Experience teaching junior/intermediate/secondary school students in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines is preferred.
  • University Degree in your area of specialty
  • OCT an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Demonstrated ability create an inclusive, positive learning environment and ability to use differentiated teaching strategies in the classroom.
  • Subject matter expertise in the course curriculum, and passion for creating experiential learning opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Empathetic approach and commitment to student success.
