Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Education Programs Assistant to provide essential support to our facilitators and contribute to the successful implementation of our Saskatchewan Sexual Violence Education Initiative (SSVE) and First Responder to Sexual Assault & Abuse Training (FRT) education programs. The ideal candidate will assist in various administrative tasks, coordinate training sessions, and contribute to the overall development and improvement of our education programs. The position requires travel within Saskatchewan, including training cycles on reserves, and will involve interacting with Indigenous communities, making an understanding of Indigenous cultures and history highly recommended.

Wage: Competitive wage scale, depending on experience and education

Paid vacation and sick days as well as dental and medical benefits. Employer contribution to CPP, EI, and WCB is paid and a T4 will be issued yearly.


Hours: 37.5 hours per week; 10-month term position with the possibility of extension, including a 3-month probation period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ongoing coordination with both FRT and SSVE facilitators to provide support for training sessions.

• Travel within Saskatchewan to training sessions to provide on-site support to facilitators, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any logistical issues.

• Assist with administrative tasks, such as organizing training materials, collecting evaluations, and maintaining program documentation.

• Conduct facilitator recertification interviews to assess performance and provide feedback for improvement.

• Communicate program updates, resources, and relevant information to facilitators, ensuring effective and timely communication channels.

• Assist in the planning and execution of train-the-trainer sessions, including preparing materials, scheduling venues and accommodations, and coordinating logistics.

• Support the Education Programs Lead in the development of SK Sexual Violence Education (SSVE) workshops, providing input, contributing ideas, and assisting with content creation and program development.


Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel

• Clear criminal record check.

• Undergraduate degree in human service and/or extensive training and experience with interpersonal violence issues

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a team focused non-profit environment.

• Experience working with Indigenous communities and ability to communicate in Indigenous languages is highly desirable.


Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with facilitators, participants, and team members.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, Zoom, and other social media applications.
