We are seeking a Permanent Part Time Dental Hygienist at Salmon Arm Health Centre in Salmon Arm, BC.
Days of work: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Days
Shift times: 08:30 to 16:30

What will you work on?
This position is responsible for providing dental health prevention and oral health promotion services to children ages 0-6 years of age. The Interior Heath Dental Program also provides services to adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.
Travelling is required within Salmon Arm and throughout the surrounding communities.
The Registered Dental Hygienist has duties and responsibilities related to:

• Applying an evidence-based approach to clinical practice and problem solving.
• Identifying, promoting and supporting opportunities for interdisciplinary practice by liaising with other Public Health staff, other health care sectors and community partners.
• Performing Provincial dental health surveys, cursory dental screenings, fluoride varnish applications, referrals, oral health education and follow-up for individuals in community dental services.
• Delivering Lift the Lip Dental programs and taking a leadership role for the operation and coordination of the regional dental services in the assigned areas.
• Developing strategies for targeted populations to meet their dental health needs utilizing community development and health promotion models.
• Providing clinical best practice and directing dental services.
• Delivery of oral health promotion presentations and awareness in community settings.
