Job Description
Kane Veterinary Supplies is a Canadian wholesale distributor and manufacturer agent, providing excellence in distribution of the highest quality, cutting edge, value-laden products to the pet retail, veterinary, agricultural, and equine markets across Canada.


Job Summary


Perform effective, safe and efficient driving duties. Deliver packages to customers on scheduled route while meeting service and performance objectives.


Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily,


  • Achieve assigned performance metrics and KPIs
  • Transact all business in accordance to Kane/Patterson Companies’ business code of conduct and business ethics
  • Assist fulfillment center in daily operations when not performing delivery duties
  • Help maintain a secure, organized, clean, and safe warehouse and vehicle
  • Operate all warehouse equipment/machinery
  • Drive assigned vehicle and deliver/pick up shipments
  • Follow all local, provincial, and federal motor carrier laws
  • Handle all hazardous materials, pesticides, and prescription drugs according to the Company’s processes/procedures and applicable laws and regulations
  • Point of contact for customer service and help resolve customer complaints
  • Collect money from customers
  • Assure routine maintenance is performed on assigned vehicle per schedule and vehicle is always in a good and safe condition
  • Load and unload assigned vehicle. Ensure all loads are properly secure for transport.
A dditional functions In addition to the essential functions listed below, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.


  • Perform all work in accordance with Company Safety guidelines and procedures including all required Safety and Compliance Training and regulatory licensing
  • Maintain acceptable driving record and current driver’s license
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Managing time effectively, meeting personal goals and fleet goals and objectives


Required Qualifications


  • Obtain a satisfactory COVR review
  • CDL, Class D, driving vehicles or combination vehicles up to 10k GVWR
  • Knowledge of delivery area and ability to read maps
  • Basic problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Able to work as an effective team member
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Effective time management skills
  • Maintain additional endorsements as required by equipment (airbrakes, tanker)
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle


Preferred Qualifications


  • One-year experience as a CDL driver preferred
