THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Deli Clerk to join our Root Cellar team! As a Deli Clerk in our Chop Shop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and presentation of our curated selection o fresh and cured meats, artisan cheeses and delicious house made salads. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for great local food and providing exceptional customer service. Previous experience in the food industry is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Accurately portion, pack, and label products for retail sale.
• Gain product knowledge in order to advise customers on the best options to suit their needs.
• Assist in the preparation of in-house salads, sandwiches, and sauces.
• Serve customers from both the cured and fresh meat cases.
• Uphold our standards for quality and freshness.
• Adhere to all food-handling and safety policies and procedures.
• Provide professional and attentive customer service.

• The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• A positive and friendly attitude.
• The flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• The ability to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly.
• Food prep experience and knife skills are an asset.
