Customer Service Representative I

Opportunity

MacEwan University seeks a full-time continuing Customer Service Representative position with our Sport & Wellness Department. As a Customer Service Representative I, you will provide high-quality front-line service to the guests of MacEwan University Sport and Wellness in a friendly, welcoming manner that promotes a sense of belonging for all individuals and groups coming to the facility, including students, employees, and the public at large.

Your Main Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate services
• Actively involved in managing and completing tasks such as equipment rentals, laundry, basic cleaning, access to classes, etc.
• Complete registration and maintenance processes for memberships, parking, locker rental/towel service, courses and services, pro shop sales, etc.
• Appropriately respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Effective conflict management
• Monitor and coordinate access into and throughout the facility

Skills

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse range of clients and colleagues
• Comfortable using computers and various software, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and SharePoint
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Good interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and both time/conflict management skills
• Ability to respond well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and high attention to detail

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, financial transactions, and the fitness and physical education fields
• A one-year college certificate, beneficial if in the fields of physical education and/or public relations
• Experience with IntelliManager software is an asset
• Equivalences may be considered
• Minimum of one year of experience

Position Requirements

• Automatic External Defibrillator
• Flexible work hours: be willing to work early shifts beginning at 5:15 am from Tuesday – Saturday .
• The successful incumbent will be required to obtain a Police Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check at their own cost.
• Current in the following certifications:
• Intermediate First Aid/CPR C
• Oxygen Therapy Certificate (an asset but not required)
