Location: Country Village Long-Term Care Home - Woodslee, ON

Position: Cook, Temporary Part-Time

Southbridge Care Homes is looking for a qualified Cook to become part of a dynamic Food and Nutrition Department team, that ensures our Residents are provided with nutritious and delicious meals, that are prepared and served with love. Duties And Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Food Services Manager assists with their responsibilities.
• Monitor quality and quantity of food supplies and recommend corrective action when need be regarding quality.
• Maintains all required records and cooperates with other departments to meet resident needs.
• Reviewing menus, preparing food following standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Coaches Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities; assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Food Services Manager, including staff replacements and service calls for malfunctioning equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in institutional large quantity cooking, ideally healthcare required
• Must provide a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
• Red Seal Cook Trade Certification an asset (but not mandatory)
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must possess/able to obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
