Sask Pork is a non-profit organization representing Saskatchewan’s community of hog producers.Our office is located in Saskatoon.
We are seeking an energetic communicator with a passion for food and agriculture to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, this full-time permanent position is responsible for the development and delivery of the organization’s overall industry communication and marketing strategy that includes:
- Planning and executing the organization’s social media strategy, including content development for Social Media platforms (Facebook /Twitter /Instagram);
- Creating print/TV/radio advertising content and messaging to promote pork and maintain the industry’s positive public image.This will include working with outside media salespeople and evaluating advertising opportunities;
·Collaborating with and supporting members of the Sask Pork team in editing and designing key communications resources for various audiences including newsletters, media releases, annual reports, business letters, brochures, and articles.
·Maintaining and updating Sask Pork’s Website;
- Planning and logistics for in-person and virtual meetings, industry events, tradeshows, webinars and workshops.
- Participating in national/provincial communications working groups and agricultural awareness groups that monitor current issues and topics important to the industry.
- Establishment of an annual communications/marketing plan and budget.
Experience and Qualifications
·Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (communications, journalism, public relations, marketing).
·Minimum 2 years related work experience.
·High level of computer proficiency with desktop publishing programs (i.e. Adobe Indesign or Canva) and Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word).
·Proficiency in English, especially written.
·Class 5 driver’s license
·Superior interpersonal skills with a high degree of organization and ability to manage multiple projects.
·Experience in graphic design and web design or a willingness to learn.
·Prior experience in an agricultural or agri-food setting would be an asset.
