Caregiver – Paid SupportBurnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) is a community based non-profit agency that has been supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families for over 65 years. BACI is looking for people who are interested in sharing their home and providing support to a person with a developmental disability – we call this Life Sharing and it is a contracted position.Your role is to:Share your life and home with a person with disabilities.Provide a safe and healthy environment.To teach and support daily living, a healthy lifestyle, and ways to make connections in their community.Be available to the person for various daily needs.BACI is looking for a Life Sharing Provider who wants to share a home with a person who has a developmental disability.We are looking for a female who will move into a home with a lovely woman and provide her with her daily living supports. This person is fun to be around, likes to explore their community, and wants to spend time with people that share her interests. This person is fortunate to have a personal network that are actively involved in her life.This is a contractor position which means you'll be paid as a contractor (not an employee). This is tax-free income, with the benefit of being paid to support someone in a home you share.Location: BurnabyPreferred not required: Previous experience and/or training supporting persons with developmental disabilities and complex mental health.Please submit your résumé and a short description of yourself and include your education and / or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
