Job Description

Job Requirements:


In this role, MATRIX is seeking an experienced Housekeeper for our MLA Camp located in the Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut. You are team oriented, motivated, and have acute attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent time management skills. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary housekeeping responsibilities in a timely manner. This position reports to the Camp Manager. Start date for this position is as soon as possible.


Responsibilities


  • Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry rooms, washrooms etc.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately
  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times
  • Wash and replace bed linens as required
  • Clean and sanitize Dry Areas
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and small wares as per the Food Safety Plan


Required Knowledge & Experience


  • Minimum of two (2) years/seasons working in a remote camp as a Housekeeper
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 12 hour days)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform physical labor
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, safely.
  • OFA Level 1 is preferred (not required)
