Your New Role
The Building Operator reports to the Senior Building Operator and will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the buildings including general maintenance and maintaining mechanical systems and fostering positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and sub-contractors.
Focusing on providing excellent tenant services, emphasizing a cooperative, helpful and non-disruptive approach in all interactions and responding to tenant inquiries in a timely manner will be paramount.
You will ensure efficient and effective building operations and monitor, as assigned by your supervisor, scheduled maintenance, and related services. This includes interior/exterior maintenance and cleaning services, HVAC systems, and life safety systems. This is to ensure the appropriate level of service is provided at the property.
Promoting environmental sustainability in building operations by supporting best practices to reduce energy consumption, assisting with BOMA BEST submissions, LEED projects and other green management practices will demonstrate effective corporate stewardship.
What Sets You Apart
You will bring 2+ years’ experience in the property management sector and operating knowledge of workplace tools such as building automation systems, preventative maintenance, security, HVAC operations and life safety systems, hazardous materials handling, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, construction practices/techniques and electrical systems.
You have a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of building systems and equipment. In addition, you have excellent customer relations skills and knowledge of construction practices/techniques. Having a BES, I/II or other equivalent technical designation is an asset.
